STRONG IMPRESSION

Posted on: Tue 31 Aug 2010

ARGYLE manager Peter Reid believes he has made a strong addition to his squad with the signing of Stephane Zubar.

The French defender has joined on an initial monthly rolling contract until international clearance is confirmed.

Zubar's arrival at Home Park follows an impressive trial spell with Argyle in pre-season and a strong recommendation from Wolves manager Mick McCarthy.

"We tried to a deal with him earlier on the season," said Reid. "We've signed him for a month at the moment and that will be the deal until he gets his international clearance.

"He is a right full-back, who can play in a few other positions. He's a strong boy and he impressed me in the summer, but we couldn't do it then.

"He is a recommendation from Mick McCarthy and he was training with them [Wolves] before he came to us."
