PETER Reid has denied making a bid for Rotherham United striker Adam Le Fondre.
The Yorkshire Post carried a story this morning including quotes from the Rotherham chairman stating a bid from Plymouth had been "dismissed in seconds".
A baffled Reid denied having any knowledge of the bid, which apparently involved a part-exchange element, with Argyle striker Rory Fallon moving in the other direction.
When asked whether he had made a bid for Le Fondre, Reid replied: "No we didn't. I would find it remarkable that the Plymouth manager doesn't know about an offer being made."

The focus for Fallon could not be further from Rotherham, as the New Zealand international seeks to cure an unidentified groin problem that has troubled him since before the end of last season.
"We're waiting on a specialist report but we think he has got a hernia," said Reid. "If I was a betting man, I would say it will need surgery."
Jim Paterson, meanwhile, is settling back into training with the Greens after a possible switch to Greek club Kavala fell through.
"I don't think the deal in Greece came up to his standard," said Reid.
