WARRIOR BAZ

Posted on: Tue 07 Sep 2010

ZIMBABWEAN defender Onismor Bhasera played the full 90 minutes in his countries 1-1 draw with Liberia on Sunday.

Baz was representing his country for the first time since 2007 in the Warriors' African Cup of Nations qualifier.

Things started well for the Zimbabweans, with last season's South African Premiership Rookie of the Year, Knowledge Musona opening the scoring after half an hour.

But the Liberians levelled proceedings in the second half when Sekou Oliseh bundled the ball home after a somewhat controversial challenge on the 'keeper.

Meanwhile, striker Rory Patterson was an unused substitute in Northern Ireland's 1-0 win over Slovenia. Former Argyle loanee Craig Cathcart was the star of the show, crossing for Corry Evans to convert in the second-half.

Joe Mason, on duty for the Republic of Ireland U21s, played nine minutes in their 1-0 defeat to Switzerland. Former Pilgrim Alan Judge played the full 90.

Joe will now travel to Turkey for Tuesday's UEFA U21 European Championship qualifier.
