ARGYLE 'til I Die is an exciting community writing project to create a book about the experiences and memories of Argyle fans. Trevor Lowman, Project Manager at the Pilgrim Centre, says: "The book will be a collection of stories from fans of all ages, and will be a positive representation of supporter's traditions, values and identities."

If you have a story to tell, perhaps about your first visit to Home Park, funny match day anecdotes, eventful journeys to away games, what Argyle meant to your parents or grandparents, or of servicemen listening from far afield, visit the Central Library between 9.30am and 12 noon. Stories, whether long, short, happy, sad, funny or tragic, can be either written or typed directly onto a computer, or recorded.

Dr Pat Ryan, a superb and inspirational professional storyteller working with football clubs as part of the 'Kick into Reading' programme promoting reading through sport, will be attending to talk about the practice of storytelling. Representatives from Playing for Success Plymouth will also be at the Library.

Refreshments will be available, and past Argyle programmes, books, newspaper cutting and other memorabilia from the Library's Local Studies collection will be on display.

Trevor Lowman confirms that the Argyle 'til I Die book will be published in time for Christmas, "with free copies being distributed to local schools and libraries, so strengthening Argyle's links with the local community and encouraging a new generation of fans". Trevor emphasis that proceeds from the book will fund reading and writing projects in local schools, including the Reading is FUNdemental scheme, which enriches lives by providing free books for children and families.

The Argyle 'til I Die project is supported by the National Literacy Trust and the Football Foundation.
