Lilian-Nalis-H

NALIS is a cultured central-midfielder who rarely gives the ball away, is strong in the tackle, good in the air and blessed with great experience and positional sense.

Lil began his career in 1993 in his native France with Caen, for whom he made 21 appearances, before joining Laval where he stayed for a couple of seasons.

Next stop was another French Side, Guingamp, but he soon moved to Le Havre. His time there was equally brief but a move to Bastia saw Nalis enjoy his most prolonged spell with any club during his career.

After three years with his beloved Bastia, Nalis was on the move again but this time his destination was Italy and, more specifically, Chievo Verona.

Unfortunately, the Italian adventure didn't work out for Nalis but he had caught the travelling bug and England was his next home.

Leicester City were the lucky recipients of his services and Nalis competed well in the Premiership, scoring one of the great goals of recent years - a thumping 35-yard left-foot volley that rocketed into the top corner and helped the Foxes batter Leeds 4-0.

Sadly for Nalis, Leicester were still relegated from the Premiership. He stayed with the Foxes for the following campaign before joining Sheffield United on a free transfer in the summer of 2005.

Nalis started the first three games of the 2005/06 season for the Blades, but then contracted tonsillitis and found himself out on loan at Coventry.

No matter, the Frenchman scored twice in five appearances for the Sky Blues and came to the attention of Argyle manager Tony Pulis.

Nalis joined the Pilgrims on a free transfer in January 2006, and played every minute of every game for the remainder of the campaign.

He formed an excellent partnership with Paul Wotton in the midfield engine room and became an integral part of the Argyle squad.

The jovial Frenchman enjoyed another excellent campaign last season and his performances rightly led to him being named Player of the Season at the end of year awards bash.
