MACKIE is a tricky forward with a fantastic engine and great pace.
Jamie joined the Pilgrims in January 2008 after lengthy negotiations with Devon rivals Exeter City.
Mackie, 22, had handed in a transfer request at St James's Park, saying he wanted to move down the Devon Expressway after learning of Argyle's interest.
The move has now been sealed and the Blue Square Premier League marksman has completed his transfer to the Championship for an initial fee of £145,000, with further sums dependent on appearances and international call-ups.
Jamie has scored 14 goals this season, with nine of them coming in a 10-game burst between the end of October and the turn of the year.
The feat, and his 100% attitude, attracted the attentions, not only of Argyle, but also Bristol City, Norwich City, Bristol Rovers and Cheltenham Town.
After starting his senior career with Leatherhead, Mackie signed for Wimbledon in 2003 as a trainee.
He made his debut for the Dons a few weeks after his 18th birthday in a 3-0 win at Reading in what is now the Championship.
After two years, during which time Wimbledon metamorphosised into MK Dons and Mackie graduated from being an attacking midfielder into a striker, he joined Exeter.
During his first season at Exeter City, he was sent out on loan to Sutton United to gain first-team experience.
