ARGYLE signed striker Alan Gow from Glasgow Rangers for an undisclosed fee in August 2009.
Gow, a towering 6ft central striker, is no stranger to the English game, having spent spells on loan with both Blackpool and Norwich City last season.
Alan began his career with Clydebank before moving to Scottish First Division Airdrie United in 2002. He spent three seasons with the Diamonds, scoring 33 goals in 98 games, before a move to Falkirk in 2005 following their promotion to the Scottish Premier League.
He became an important member of their squad, helping them retain their SPL status in 2005-06. His performances in the 2006-07 season led to interest from the Old Firm clubs, plus Hibernian and Aberdeen, and Wolves had a bid for him turned down.
On New Year's Day 2007 he scored a hat-trick as Falkirk won 5-1 at Dundee United and, six months later, after 18 goals in 70 games, Old Firm giants Rangers then pounced on an out-of-contract Alan in 2007.
With chances limited at Ibrox, Alan spent a loan spell at Blackpool last year - scoring five goals in 17 matches - and Norwich, for who he made 11 appearances, including the Canaries' 1-0 win over Argyle at Carrow Road.
Alan also has one Scotland B cap to his name, having scored in a 2-2 draw with Finland in 2007. Argyle midfielder Chris Clark also played in that match.
Gow has agreed to a two-year deal at Home Park.
