WINGER Craig Noone began his career as a youngster with Skelmersdale United on Merseyside.
He progressed through the ranks at Skelmersdale and eventually joined Burscough before moving onto Southport in 2008.
He only played one game for his new club, however, as Argyle chief scout Andy King persuaded manager Paul Sturrock to take a punt on Noone, who was working as roofer at the time.
It would prove to be an inspired gamble, as Noone instantly wowed the Green Army with his trickery on the wing and a wondrous left-foot.
He scored an astonishing first goal for the Greens, weaving a path through the Coventry City defence in a 1-0 win in November 2008. Noone's sparkling displays, often from the bench, even prompted reports of a possible move to the Premier League.
Last season proved to be a frustrating campaign on the sidelines and Noone was sent out loan to Exeter City. Once again, his skill came to the fore and he was swiftly recalled by Sturrock. Unfortunately, a persistent knee problem would hamper the rest of his campaign.
