OPTICIANS all over Staffordshire must have headed to Stoke-on-Trent when Stoke City released Curtis after he spent many years in their Academy.
The Potters' loss was Argyle's gain, as Curtis signed apprentice forms at Home Park soon afterwards.
When Peter Reid arrived in Plymouth, he quickly earmarked the teenager as the pick of Argyle's youth, with Curtis making more than 30 appearances in the Pilgrims' first team before reaching the age of 18.
