SCHOLARS seeking to add Argyle Studies or Pilgrimsology to their curriculum this year are being granted a special student deal by the club.

To assist football-loving full-time students who will be based in and around the city, Argyle have introduced a cut-price Term Ticket.

The Term Ticket will enable them to attend seven Argyle home games in the Mayflower stand for only £70.

It can be used during either the autumn or spring terms, or, if two tickets are bought, both.

Argyle chief operating officer Tony Campbell said: "This brand new initiative is aimed at the significant number of the local community who cannot attend every home game.

"Plymouth is a major university town with more than 30,000 students. However, most of these miss out on season-ticket savings as the University term does not start until September 28 and ends for Christmas on December 18."

As a special bonus, supporters buying a Term Ticket will be able to purchase a first-team shirt at the same time for the discounted price of just £30 - a shirt and seven home games for only £100.

"We thought we'd like to give our new supporters a helping hand to show their allegiance to our colours," said Tony.

The autumn edition begins with the visit of Nottingham Forest on Sunday, September 27 for Sky's live televised game and also includes home games against Scunthorpe United, Ipswich Town, Doncaster Rovers, Barnsley, Sheffield United, and the last game at Home Park prior to Christmas when Coventry City are in town on December 19.

The spring Term Ticket starts on January 11 with the visit of Neil Warnock's Crystal Palace, while also giving fans the chance to see the visits of: Derby County, West Bromwich Albion, Swansea City, Leicester City and Preston North End, finishing with the Westcountry derby against Bristol City on March 16.

Tickets are on sale now from the Argyle Box Office with the necessary proof that the purchaser is a full-time student.
