Jake Baker (Midfielder)
Aged 16 Born December 9, 1992
From St Hellier in Jersey. Former pupil of Grainville School, in Jersey. First spotted by Argyle youth development officer John James playing for Jersey under-15s against Plymouth Schools in the 2007-08 English Schools' Trophy competition. Signed in February of this year, after first visiting Home Park for trials last October. Used to play for St Paul's FC in Jersey, where he was coached by the father of ex-Chelsea and England defender Graham Le Saux.
Ben Clarvis (Midfielder)
Aged 16 Born February 28, 1993
From Decoy, near Newton Abbot. Used to go to Torquay Boys Grammar School. Played schools football for Torbay and Devon, he attended the Devon FA Development Centre at Ottery St Mary for five seasons prior to joining the Pilgrims' Centre of Excellence last September. Recently underwent an ankle ligament operation, so unlikely to play until September.
Connor Clifford (Left-back)
Aged 16 Born October 26, 1992
From Exeter. Attended Clyst Vale Community College. Played schools football for Exeter and Devon. Joined Argyle's Centre of Excellence in February of last year. Made five substitute appearances for the youth team last season.
Lewis Coombes (Striker)
Aged 16 Born November 10, 1992
From Lipson in Plymouth. Former pupil of Lipson Community College. Played schools football for Plymouth and Devon. Another to switch from Exeter City to his home-town club last summer. Was out of action for the second half of last season with a back problem.
Curtis Nelson (Defender)
Aged 16 Born May 21, 1993
From Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. Former student at Clayton College, Newcastle-under-Lyme, and the youngest of the new intake. Spent seven years at Stoke City's Academy but was surprisingly released last February. Signed for Argyle in April, in preference to Oldham Athletic and Macclesfield Town.

Matt Rickard (Striker)
Aged 16 Born January 29, 1993
From Exeter. Another ex-student of Clyst Vale Community College, and another player to switch from the Grecians to the Pilgrims last summer. Had five starts and 10 substitute appearances for the youth team last season, scoring twice.

Sam Sawyer (Defender)
Aged 16 Born November 11, 1992
From Bideford, North Devon, and the younger brother of first-teamer Gary Sawyer. Attended Bideford College. Played schools football for North Devon district and Devon county. Yet another on Exeter City's books who moved to Argyle last summer. Made two full andthree substitute appearances for the youth team last season
Raivo Varazinskis (Goalkeeper)
Aged 16 Born March 7, 1993
From Liepaja in Latvia. Current Latvian under-16 international goalkeeper. First spotted playing against Argyle in an under-15 tournament staged in the Latvian capital, Riga, in May of last year, he subsequently impressed head of youth coaching Mike Pejic and youth goalkeeper coach Rhys Wilmot during four visits to Plymouth. Signed from leading Latvian club Liepajas Metalurgs.
Luke Young (Midfielder)
Aged 16 Born February 22, 1993
From Southway in Plymouth. Another ex-student of Ivybridge Community College, who played schools football for Plymouth and Devon. First signed Centre of Excellence forms for Argyle just over nine years ago, in May 2000, aged 9. Made 9 full appearances, plus 14 as a substitute, for the youth team last season, including the full 90 minutes of the fifth round FA Youth Cup-tie against Tottenham Hotspur. Also played once for the reserves.

Oliver Chenoweth (Goalkeeper)
Aged 17 Born February 17, 1992
From Liskeard, the only apprentice to come from Cornwall. Attended Liskeard Community College and played regularly for the Cornwall schools team. A product of the PAYD Development Centre based at Stoke Climsland, he first signed Centre of Excellence for the Pilgrims as a 13-year-old in November 2005. Played seven times for the youth team last season and twice for the reserves.

Sean Kinsella (Midfielder)
Aged 17 Born October 25, 1991
From Stone in Staffordshire. An ex-pupil of Walton High School, Stafford, he played schools football for Staffordshire. Spent six years at Stoke City's Academy, but was surprisingly released last February and signed for Argyle in March of last year. Created a favourable impression with his cultured passing in last season's successful youth team, missing only one of their 27 games, and also enjoying six full appearances and one substitute outing for the reserves.

Ryan Leonard (Midfielder)
Aged 17 Born May 24, 1992
From Chaddlewood, near Plympton. A former Devon schools player, he is the first graduate from the Ivybridge Community College Football Academy, set up by former Argyle Head of Youth Stuart Gibson, five years ago, in Argyle's apprentice ranks. Joined the club initially, aged eight, back in June 2001, and played mainly in midfield as a schoolboy. Was successfully switched to right back when Chinua Troupe was injured and went on to make 23 full and two substitute appearances for the youth team, scoring twice, plus seven starts and one substitute outing for the reserves.

Ciaran Levet (Striker)
Aged 17 Born November 11, 1991
From Yeovil. Attended Preston High School in Yeovil. Played schools football for Somerset. First signed Centre of Excellence forms for the Pilgrims as a 13-year-old in April 2005. Injuries and illness led to him only making one substitute appearance for the youth team last season.
Jordan Trott (Defender)
Aged 17 Born October 9, 1991
From Pennycross, just up the road from Home Park. Ex-pupil of St. Boniface's Catholic College. Member of the Devon that won the national schools' cup in season 2007-08. Another to join the club initially as an eight-year-old, in May 2001. Made 12 full and three substitute appearances for the youth team last season and had 2 full and 2 substitute outings for the reserves, mainly at left back. Expected to link-up with Ryan Leonard at centre-back this coming season.

Chinua Troupe (Right-back)
Aged 17 Born September 15, 1991
From Druids Heath, Birmingham. Used to attend Baverstock High School, Birmingham. With West Bromwich Albion's Academy as a schoolboy, he joined Argyle in March last year. His progress last season was hampered by injury, only making three starts plus four substitute appearances for the youth team, but he did also have one start and one substitute outing for the reserves.

Aged 17 Born January 26, 1992
From Bovey Tracey, and a former pupil of South Dartmoor Community College, Ashburton. Scored in a brief substitute appearance for England in the UEFA Under-17 Championship qualifiers last November to follow-up his six outings for the under-16 international team the previous season. Joined Argyle as a 13-year-old in April 2005. Joint leading goalscorer, with Joe Mason, for last season's successful youth team. Made two starts and five substitute outings for the reserves last season.
