GOALKEEPER Jake Cole joined the Pilgrims as a free agent in August 2011 and went on to become one of the heroes of the Pilgrims season.

Jake was on the books of Queens Park Rangers for several years as understudy to many goalkeepers, but made just six appearances for the club. He spent time on loan at Hayes, AFC Wimbledon, Farnborough and Oxford United before a spell being borrowed by Barnet.

He was released by QPR in May 2009 and soon joined Barnet on a permanent basis. Cole was voted the supporters' Player of the Year in his first season at Underhill and made almost one hundred appearances between the sticks in just over two years with the club.

After being released at the end of the 2010-11 campaign he spent time on trial with Gillingham before joining Argyle for pre-season training, where he impressed enough to earn a two-year deal.

Jake immediately became first choice goalkeeper for Peter Reid and, after Reid left and Carl Fletcher took over, was number one for the rest of the season as Romain Larrieu stepped up to become the club’s assistant manager.

In total, Jake made 37 appearances for Argyle last season and played a huge part in helping the club to stay in the Football League.
