WHILE many at Home Park may not have known a lot about Argyle’s second signing of summer 2013, the gaffer – John Sheridan – certainly did.

Heywood-born Lewis graduated from Oldham’s Boundary Park youth system to make his first-team debut under Sheridan in October 2007 – when he was in charge at the club.

Following a short-loan spell with Chester City, where he scored once in four appearances, Alessandra left Oldham in June 2011 having netted eight times in 34 league starts.

Next, Lewis headed for Morecambe, scoring his first Shrimps goal as a substitute in their August 2011 2-0 win over Aldershot. The Green Army will of course recall his goal against the Pilgrims at the Globe Arena later on that season.

Last year, Lewis started the season in fine form, scoring Morecambe's first goal in their memorable Capital One Cup first round win over Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

Three more goals followed - against Chesterfield, York City and Port Vale - all games which the Shrimps went on to win.

Lewis was offered a new deal by Morecambe at the close of the 2012/13 season, but opted instead to sign for Argyle on a two-year deal.
