KELVIN Mellor was a regular down the right-side for Argyle last term, making 36 starts and scoring just one goal on the final day of the season away at Shrewsbury.

Kelvin signed a two-year contract with Argyle following his departure from Crewe Alexandra at the end of the 2013-14 season. After signing from Nantwich Town in 2008, the combative right-back played 91 times for Crewe over a six-year period, scoring two goals. He also scored four times in a loan spell with Newcastle Town, and played in Europa League qualifying games in a short spell with Icelandic side IBV.

Although young, Kelvin has already made two successful visits to Wembley Stadium. He was part of the Alexandra side that beat Cheltenham Town in the 2011-12 League 2 play-off final, as well their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy success in 2013. Kelvin is both good going forward and good defensively, making him a regular in the Argyle side.
