Leg Work

ARGYLE’S visit to Oxford for Saturday’s npower League 2 game is the middle leg of a three-game away-day streak inside eight days.

Although the league season started last Saturday, the Argyle’s visit to Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday was their third match of the 2012-13 campaign.

Time on the road has been factored into the Pilgrims’ build-up as much as time of the training-ground.

“It’s the fourth game in 12 days,” said. “We got back about 4.30am on Wednesday morning and had Wednesday off, so hopefully the lads have caught up on their sleep.

“Training has not been too physical or strenuous, to make sure we are physically and mentally right.”

The Dagenham & Redbridge game saw Argyle pick their first point of the season from a 0-0 draw which even Fletch admitted was a fortuitous result.

He said: “Some days you get like that, when things aren’t going how you want them to go. When you have an off day, it’s important to get a result.

“To get a clean sheet away from home was a big bonus after the performance.”
