Bye Bye First Round

ARGYLE have been handed a bye in the first round of this season's Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

The Pilgrims join fellow southern section clubs Barnet, Brentford, Cheltenham Town, Colchester United, Leyton Orient, Torquay United and Wycombe Wanderers in sitting out the first round draw, which is scheduled to be played on Saturday, August 18, live on Sky Sports 1.
Argyle will now enter this season's competition at the second round stage on  October 9.
The Pilgrims last received a JPT first round bye in 2010 and went to to progress to the area quarter-final following a 2-0 second round victory over Cheltenham.
Sadly, though, despite a wonderful Chris Clark goal from all of 45 yards, the Pilgrims were eventually knocked out of the competition by Exeter City at Home Park.
