Losing Lowry

JAMIE Lowry will have a scan on Wednesday after suffering a swollen ankle during Argyle’s 1-0 pre-season victory over Truro City.

The former Chesterfield defender, who signed as a free agent two weeks ago, went down five minutes before half-time after challenging for a high ball with Stewart Yetton.

Manager Carl Fletcher was obviously concerned to see his new signing potentially unavailable for the start of the season.
“Jamie caught the guy’s boot and went down on his ankle,” said Carl.

“He lives in Newquay anyway, so he’s gone down to Treliske Hospital to have it checked out.

“I’m a little bit worried. It swelled up straight away and it’s a disappointing because he’s a good player.

“We’ve got Durrell [Berry] out injured at the moment and then we’ve got Jamie gone down tonight so that’s both my covers at right-back gone.

“We’ll wait and see.  don’t want to say too much but he was in a lot of pain and it’s a shame because he’s a good player and a lovely lad and he’s fitted seamlessly into our squad.”
