Thanks, Ben

PRIOR to Saturday’s game against Chesterfield, Argyle manager Carl Fletcher invited a special guest to assist with his pre-match preparations.

He said: “We had a lad come in just before the game, Ben McBean, a former soldier who has lost a leg and an arm. We brought him in for ten minutes before the game to speak to the lads, to tell them things could be a lot worse.

“He had pictures of just after his mishap in Afghanistan, where he lost his leg and it was pretty gruesome, to be honest.

“But it brings home that, whatever you do, whatever happens, there’s always someone worse off than you.

“We spoke about how his mates helped him out and everything in Afghanistan, and he’s doing marathons and everything now.

“It was great of Ben to come in and do that for us.”
