ARGYLE manager John Sheridan is calling for the Green Army to turn out in force at Rochdale next Saturday as the Pilgrimas battle for their Football League status.

Following a 1-0 home defeat to Rotherham, Argyle lie two points above the drop zone and know that a point at Spotland next week will be enough to keep them in npower League 2.

It promises to be a nervy day for Argyle fans in Greater Manchester but John is backing the Green Army to travel to Rochdale in their droves.

“I want every fan that can go there to get there,” he said.

“I know everyone will want to be there to see it through - the fans have been unbelievable.”

Sheridan revealed, after the Rotherham game, that he was gutted not to secure safety on Saturday.

He said: “I wanted to go out on the pitch and celebrate and say one or two things, but I don’t think it’s the right time.

“I’ve got to be focused and stay focused. When the job is done, the time will come when I can thank everybody – hopefully that will be next week.”
