Harvey On A High

ARGYLE manager John Sheridan was quick to congratulate Tyler Harvey after the Pilgrims’ youngster...

...found himself on the shortlist for the Football League’s npower League 2 Apprentice of the Year award.

Young Tyler has had an eventful year which culminated in a last-minute goal on his full home debut against Torquay United.

“It’s a great achievement,” said John. “It’s great for Plymouth and it’s great for Tyler.

“He’s got a lot going for him. I’ve got a lot of time for him and, from what I’ve seen of him in training, he’s got some really good qualities in his game.

“I’ve had a chat with him. He’s got to be selfish – even as a young kid he must learn that.

“As a striker – and I try and breed it into every striker – you get judged on your goals, not how much running you do.  That’s something Tyler will learn.

“He’s made that little step up, he trains with the first team and, even in training, he needs to score more goals.

“This year will do him the world of good and, with a good pre-season in him, next year, he’ll be pushing for a place.”
