Schoolboys At Home Park

HOME Park is hosting the second match in England Schoolboys’ defence of the Under-18 Centenary Shield next month.

The English Schools’ Football Association game against Northern Ireland takes place on Friday, March 8, kicking off at 7pm.

Tickets for the match have now gone on sale at the Home Park Ticket Office, priced at £4 for adults – providing they are obtained in advance – and £2 for Under-16s.

Group discounts are available by contacting Chris French, the secretary of Plymouth Schools Football Association, on 07585 403993, or you can email plymouthschoolsfa@hotmail.co.uk.

All proceeds are ploughed back into the grassroots of English schools football, half of which going to Plymouth Schools Football.

England are holders of the Centenary Shield, having won three of their four matches last season – against Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland – after losing the opener to Wales.

They again start the defence of their title against Wales, at Lincoln City’s Sincil Bank, one week ahead of the visit to Plymouth.

They then take on Scotland at McDiarmid Park, home of St Johnstone, before concluding their campaign by travelling to the Turner’s Cross Stadium, home of Cork City in the Republic of Ireland.
