Hit The Ground Running

WITH 19 league games to go, and Argyle in the League 2 relegation zone, it is stating the obvious to say that the Pilgrims need to start wining soon.

Three of their next four matches are at Home Park, starting with Saturday’s visit of Morecambe and new manager John Sheridan has again emphasised the need for his reign to begin with a running start.

“Three of the next four games are massive games for us,” he said. “We’re at home and I expect us to pick points up from the games.

“I’m not saying it will be the Morecambe game, but we have got to go out thinking that we have got to pick three points up.

“It’s as simple as that with the position we’re in.

“I know what teams are like in this league – anyone can beat anyone on their day.

“Like ourselves, Morecambe could go on a run of four or five games. They are strong; they are organised, a threat at set-plays. They are a well-established side in this division.

“It is important that we try to concentrate on what we do.

“We know we’ve got to win football matches.”
