'Wottsy's Wottsy'

GIVEN everything else that happened on Tuesday, the return of a living Argyle legend went almost unnoticed.

Paul Wotton did not take the field at the Memorial Stadium, but his mere presence among the substitutes at Bristol – after three months’ absence because of a back injury – was a fillip, and his name may well be on the squad-list for Saturday’s trip to Port Vale.

“Wottsy’s Wottsy,” said joint temporary caretaker manager Romain Larrieu.

“You would want him to have a few games under his belt before he goes back in, but we have got a small squad, so we will consider everyone who is fit.”

Also under consideration for a place on the visit to the Potteries is winger Joe Lennox, who, along with Isaac Vassell, has accepted a contract extension following the expiry of his previous deal.

“We’re going to offer Joe another month just so the new manager, when he comes in, will be able to make his own opinion of him,” said Kevin Nancekivell.

The other half of the Pilgrims’ temporary management team also confirmed that midfielder Mark Molesley had returned to Bournemouth at the end of his loan.

“He’s done terrific and I’d like to thank him for his efforts and what he’s done in his time here,” said Nance.
