Here Lido, Here Lido, Here Lido

TINSIDE Lido on Plymouth Hoe. Since 1935 associated with fresh air and fun.

But try telling that to Argyle Performance Manager John Harbin, who put the players through their various strokes on Friday morning.

Completing strength exercises, team-building lengths and various circuit workouts among many other things, John played the part of a tough task-master for the perspiring pre-season Pilgrims.

"They worked hard today but they probably had a bit of fun, too," said John.

"It's a good bonding session and they all put in - they probably hate me at the moment!

"The poorer swimmers got helped out by some of the stronger ones and that is what it's all about.

"Coming down here breaks the monoteny of  pre-season training and gets them off their legs.

"And, as everybody knows, salt water is really good therapy."
