Vassell Signs On

ISAAC Vassell has extended his stay at Home Park.

The 19-year-old Cornishman will now remain at Home Park until the end of the season.

Whilst Vass has not made a first-team appearance since the 2011-12 campaign, last season he was a shining light in Argyle’s second string, he played in every game of the Pilgrims’ run to the Devon St Luke’s Cup final.

After offering the forward a new deal in May, Argyle manager John Sheridan said: “Obviously he’s got pace and I’ve seen that when he has played.

“With him, it’s belief in himself, more than anything. He trains with us and I just think he’s a bit insecure when he’s in and around the first-team.

“But I’ve told him that he needs to grow up because I’ve seen something there.

“I think he was surprised, but I think there’s something there, some attributes that could make him a good player.”
