Familiar Territory

JOHN Sheridan takes Argyle to familiar territory on Saturday, when the Pilgrims visit his former club, Chesterfield.

John was manager of the Spireites until earlier in the season, winning the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy for them last season.

That, though, is firmly in the Argyle gaffer’s past as he attempts to build on his impressive record of five wins and four draws from his 12 games in charge of the Pilgrims and steer them clear of the League 2 relegation zone.

“All I’m bothered about is Plymouth and trying to stay in this division,” he said.

“Our level of performance is improving so, if we keep doing that, we will win more games than we lose.

“They are all big games. We know what’s at stake. No matter who we are playing, we need to win games.

“We have just got to carry on this little run and hopefully we can do it on Saturday.

“We just got to keep on doing what we’re doing. If we keep picking points up, we’ll be alright.”
