FA Focus

WITH another League 2 point secured, the focus at Home Park now switches to the FA Cup with Budweiser and Wednesday’s first-round replay with Lincoln City.

Argyle earned a home crack at the Skrill Premier League side by virtue of a 0-0 draw at Sincil Bank.

“We’re at home – I expect us to win the game,” said Argyle manager John Sheridan, after Saturday’s 1-1 Sky Bet League 2 draw at York. “We will have to play a lot better than we did today. We will have to be on our game to win it.

“We’ll get ready for what is going to be a tough game. I’ll pick my strongest team. Whatever team I pick will be the team that I hope is going to win us the game.”

A home second-round tie against Skrill Premier Welling awaits the victors of the tie, and Argyle captain Conor Hourihane said: “The Cup is just as important as the league, especially to the club – it brings in money. If you get into the third round, you never know who you can get drawn against.

“We want to win every match we play in and we’ll see how far that takes us.”
