Argyle Ladies 4 Newquay Ladies 0

The Argyle Ladies consolidated top spot with a comfortable 4-0 win over their Newquay counterparts.

The game against Cornish rivals Newquay was something of a routine victory, and had it not been for some wayward finishing, the goal tally would have been much greater.

Argyle almost scored in their first attack, but Emily Mousley failed to get proper contact on the ball from close in and the ball bobbled into the keepers hands.

Shortly after Mousley flashed a 20 yard looping drive that
rebounded off the crossbar.

Argyle took the lead after 20 minutes when Laura Perrett headed a precise Becca Rose corner in at the far post. Amazingly it remained just  1-0 at half time.

A two goal burst inside the first five minutes effectively ended Newquay's hopes.

The first of the two was set up by Chloe Bassett as she slipped a nice pass to Rose who picked her spot from 16 yards.

The third goal, two minutes later, came courtesy of a great right wing cross from Ellie Dorey that found the head of Mousley who nodded in from five yards.

It was Mousley herself who made the fourth, her firmly struck cross being turned in by the unfortunate Kirsty Lang.

The win keeps the girls in top spot in the league.
