THE Argyle Ladies handed out a thrashing to their Exeter City counterparts to take their goal tally to 12 in just two games.Argyle started in positive mood and served notice of their intent as early as the third minute when Emily Mousley was put through, only to shoot tamely at the City 'keeper.
But the Pilgrims' pressure paid off just three minutes later when a great cross from the left wing by Rachel Javan found Chloe Bassett on the opposite flank. She passed inside for Jodie Chubb to finish a fine move.
Exeter were finding it hard to get into the game and fell further behind when Mousley ran onto a through ball and planted it past the advancing City 'keeper.
Just five minutes later, Mousley again increased Argyle’s lead, heading in at the far post from a pinpoint Becca Rose corner kick to send her side in 3-0 up at the break.
It took just five minutes of the second period for the Pilgrims to extend their lead further with Rose converting with a well taken penalty after Mousley was taken out by the goalkeeper.
The rout was complete soon afterwards when Laura Perrett found the far corner from the edge of the box.
Argyle eased off a little and City had a little more of the play, but were unable gain a foothold.
Their only effort of note came deep in the match when 'keeper Michaela Phillips had to leap to palm away a hopeful shot from the top corner of the goal.
Next Sunday the team make their first ever trip to the Isle of Wight to play league newcomers Shanklin Ladies.
