Cheltenham U18s 0 Argyle U18s 3

ARGYLE'S youngsters got their season up and running when they put two defeats behind them to record this impressive victory at Quat Goose Lane.

It was a cracking goal that sent the young Pilgrims on their way, after 12 minutes, when Jake Miller hit a superb 30-yarder in to the top right-hand corner of the Robin's goal.

Cheltenham came back at Argyle but Andrew Hannah made two fine saves to preserve Argyle's lead which they finally doubled on 63 minutes.

Louis Rooney was hauled down in the Robins area, and Argyle's Northern Ireland u-19 international stepped up to send the goalkeeper the wrong way from the penalty spot.

The points were assured, 10 minutes from time, when hesitation in the home defence let in Jason Vincent to round the home 'keeper and slot the ball in to an empty net.

Hannah then made a great save to preserve his clean sheet and leave Argyle coach Shaun Taylor to say: "We had good shape and were well organised which meant we were worthy winners."
