Peter the Ref

Peter Bankes will be the man calling the shots when we entertain Mansfield Town this Saturday afternoon.

This will be Peter’s first ever time officiating a Football League game, so therefore his first visit to Home Park.

This season so far, in non-league football, Mr Bankes has awarded just the single penalty, and shown two red cards. Peter has also shown 75 yellow cards over 17 games.

Peter may have only ever refereed non-league fixtures, but has been an assistant in big games this season, running the line in games featuring Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, West Ham, and Swansea; so Peter will used to the big game atmosphere.

Mr Bankes’ last game was in the Conference National between Cambridge United and Grimsby Town. The game saw a total of six yellow cards.

Let’s hope Argyle can control their behaviour on their Stag do...
