Durrell, Andres Released

DURRELL Berry and Andres Gurrieri have been released by Argyle.

The two, who have played 175 for the Pilgrims between them, have not accepted new terms offered to them by the club following this summer's expiry of their previous contract.

Twenty-two year-old defender Durrell was signed for Argyle by Peter Reid in the summer of 2011 after being released by Aston Villa. He made 107 appearances in his three seasons, scoring one goal - in last season's 5-0 thrashing of Morecambe at Home Park.

Midfielder Andres, 25 next month, trialled with the Pilgrims in the same summer that Durrell joined and was eventually signed by Carl Fletcher 12 months later following a season with Burton Albion. He played 68 times in his two seasons at Home Park, scoring five goals.

Five other Pilgrims whose contracts expired this summer have agreed new contracts: goalkeeper Luke McCormick and Young Player of the Season Curtis Nelson signed two-year deals, with everGreen defender Paul Wotton, and forwards Matt Lecointe and Nathan Thomas agreeing one-year terms.

Everyone at Argyle thanks Durrell and Andres for their contribution to the Green cause and wishes them nothing but the best for their future career.
