No Hard Leavings

ARGYLE manager John Sheridan wanted departing Pilgrims Durrell Berry and Andres Gurrieri to remain at Home Park...

...but takes no umbrage at their decision to leave.

Defender Durrell, 22, and midfielder Andres, 24, have been released after failing to take up the club’s offer of a new deal when their current agreement ends this summer.

“I offered them contracts because I wanted them to stay, but that’s football,” said John. “If they feel they can get a better contract somewhere else, good luck to them.

“Those places are vacated, with the two of them not taking the option up, so I have got to try and fill those areas.

“They are both great lads – I have got a lot of time for them – like most of the lads that I have let go. It has been very hard, because they were all good for me last year and we all got on well together.

“But I’ve got to make decisions. We’ve got to improve on last year.”
