No Time For Wayward Lads

JOHN Sheridan was full of praise for his Argyle squad ahead of their match against Cheltenham Town in the Sky Bet League 2.

Argyle are on a four match unbeaten run and Sheridan understands the importance of a hard-working and focused squad.

“We’ve got a good work ethic about us at the moment,” he said.

“If you’ve got one missing or two missing it affects the whole team and at this moment in time we’ve got everyone working their socks off.”

Sheridan joked he sympathises with Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers over his current predicament at Liverpool.

Rodgers has made several comments to the media surrounding controversial striker Mario Balotelli since arriving for £16 million from AC Milan with the forward added further fuel to the fire by swapping shirts with Real Madrid’s Pepe at half time on Wednesday night.

John also brought up the name of a Liverpool legend that he believes got it right with some criticism of the Italian.

“Luckily we haven’t got Balotelli in our team!” said John. “That’s what gives Liverpool a bit of a problem at any moment.

“I listen to Graeme Souness; I could listen to him all day.

“Everything he says in my eyes is spot on and it should go out even to players at our level.

“I watch him the day after a game and I hear him talking about Premiership players, the same things I’m trying to tell second division players.”
