Stinging And Taming

ANTHONY O’Connor has described this weekend’s Sky Bet League 2 game against Shrewsbury Town as a “good test for the team”.

Shrewsbury arrive at Home Park with one of the worst away forms in the league,  failing to score a goal on the road in their last four outings.

O’Connor said: “We’re all looking forward to it.

“The gaffer has been happy with us, and we’ve been looking sharp.

“Hopefully come Saturday the fans will get behind us and push us on and we can get three points”.

The Blackburn loanee has been doing his research on the Shrews, noting the presence of Liam Lawrence in the Shrews line-up.

The Republic of Ireland international and ex-Premier League central midfielder arrived at Shrewsbury this season, but O’Connor isn’t put off by his fellow countryman.

“I won’t show any nerves, and I won’t be scared to tackle.

“It will be a good test for the team, especially myself for someone who plays in the middle.

“If there’s a tackle to be made, I'll be sure to have him on my case. I’ll be like a wasp around him.”
