Chairman's Challenge

THE hairdryer treatment might have been dished out twice at Home Park on Saturday.

After a first half in which Argyle, playing against ten man Southend, created few chances, John Sheridan's Pilgrims might have received some words to rouse them at the half-time interval. Whatever verbal and tactical actions the gaffer may have taken at the break, they worked, as a purposeful Argyle side ran out 2-0 victors over the tiring Shrimpers.

But, while John was geeing up the boys in the changing rooms under the Mayflower stand, in front of the tunnel his boss was undertaking a rather different challenge.

For weeks social media across the world has seen people performing the Ice Bucket Challenge; millions have taken a drenching in the name of raising awareness of Motor Neurone Disease, and its related charities.

Argyle players, staff members and the Argyle Angels have all participated in the task, and on Saturday the chain reached the boardroom table.

Chairman James Brent was called upon by club President Chris Webb to accept the challenge, and he duly did, at the side of the Home Park pitch, during the Southend game's interval.

You can view the video of the chairman's dunking below. It is certainly worth a view, if only to check out just whom James nominated to be next in line to take the challenge...
