JAMES Linington is the referee for this Saturday’s Sky Bet League 2 home match against visitors Hartlepool United.

Linington, from Newport on the Isle of Wight, will take charge of an Argyle game for the ninth time in his career since making his refereeing debut in 2008. The Pilgrims boast a mixed record of three wins, a draw and four defeats under Linington, which stretches as far back as March 2010 when Argyle suffered a 2-0 home defeat against Blackpool.

The self-employed plumbing and central heating engineer has shown a total of 29 yellow and 5 red cards in nine games this season.

In his previous League 2 encounter with Argyle - last season’s 2-0 away win against Southend United - Linington awarded a penalty to the Greens and booked former defender Maxime Blanchard.
