Leading Lines

REUBEN Reid did not – for once – score as Argyle looted Luton for three points in Sky’s live Saturday lunchtime game...

...but his performance in the Sky Bet League 2 clash won him the man-of-the-match plaudits.

Dominic Blizzard, who scored the game's only goal, was generally appreciative of his team-mate’s all-round performance in a familiar lone-striker role.

“He plays well up on his own,” said Dom. “He’s big and he’s strong, and he holds the ball up. He can create chances for others as well. We’re very fortunate.”

Pilgrims manager John Sheridan, for who Reuben has scored 26 goals in the last 59 games, also praised the in-form forward.

“He’s looking strong; he’s looking sharp,” he said. “In the second half, he led the line really well, and this is what we need from him – he’s a big player for us.

“The way he plays gets [opponents] on the back foot and he occupies one or two players which will enable a bit of space for someone else.”
