Mick in the Middle

MICK Russell is the referee for Saturday’s away trip to Luton, which will be shown live on Sky Sports, at Kenilworth Road.

The Hertfordshire whistler gained his refereeing status in 2004 and has only officiated one game this season, between Wycombe and Coventry, in which he issued two yellow cards.

Russell last refereed Argyle in last season’s 2-0 home defeat to Oxford, which saw him brandish a red card to former Pilgrim, Maxime Blanchard, for a second bookable offence. That season he issued 73 yellows and three red cards.

Argyle’s record under the watchful eye of Russell boasts six wins, four draws and three defeats over a 10-year period, with a total of 31 yellows and two red cards being issued.
