THANKS to manager Derek Adams, Argyle have gained a number of new fans this season, and not just Pilgrims’ fans delighted by their smart start to the new Sky Bet league 2 campaign.
Derek’s dad, George and other members of the Adams clan have been spotted among the Green Army, watching from the away area at a several matches this season. George, Alex Ferguson's former Aberdeen youth coach, is not currently involved in football, and now enjoys his spare time watching games, including those involving his son's well-oiled Green Machine.
Derek said: “He’s been and watched a number of games, and so have the rest of my family. It's been nice for them to be there.”
Although Derek and his father worked together for seven years at Ross County and Motherwell, George is now strictly an observer, rather than a participant.
“He's at the games and he sees the games, but I don't use him from that point of view,” said Derek. “Obviously he's a good help some times.”
