Changing Team, Same Objective

THE objective of Argyle entering a team in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League is...

...to ensure all players at the club are given ample opportunity to show their skills in a competitive environment.

For the coaching team, it means juggling with different personnel but an excellent start of three successive wins has shown that the playing staff are responding well to the challenge of regular football.

Dobwalls visit Seale-Hayne next, this Saturday, and it will be another tough encounter against a side that has won their last two games.

“It’s not an ideal situation to have a different set of players each week but that was always likely with the Peninsula League side because the whole idea is based on ensuring everybody gets regular competitive football,” said Head Coach Kevin Nancekivell.

“When the team is regularly changing, you need to adhere to a specific philosophy that is running through the club, from the first-team to the Academy and the education team in the Argyle Community Trust.

“All the players are aware of what we expect from them in any different formation and the manager is very flexible with his approach to games, which is something we need to replicate.”
