County Show

JAKE Jervis paid tribute to his former Ross County team-mate Graham Carey as the architect of Argyle’s 4-1 win over Carlisle United.

Jake, 23, marked his home league debut with Argyle’s first and fourth goals in their biggest Home Park win for 17 months.

The second of his strikes was unselfishly set up by Graham when the 26-year-old Irishman slipped Jake in nine minutes after scoring himself. He also provided the assist for the Pilgrims’ second from Reuben Reid.

Jake said: “That’s what Graham’s all about: setting people up and, obviously, he can get a shot off himself – he got his goal, as well. It’s great he can show both sides of the game.

“He’s got a great left foot on him and there’s a lot to his game, going forward and getting into pockets. Hopefully, he can continue to improve through the season and get his goals and set people up.”
