The Lowdown on...York

5 August 2015

OUR final Sky Bet League 2 lowdown subjects are York. Will they have a Grand Old season, befitting of their eponymous duke? Or will be a season of Shambles...?

Last season: 18, League Two, 52 pts
Manager: Russ Wilcox
Nickname: The Minstermen
When we play them: home - Monday, March 28; away - Saturday, November 14
Last season: home - D 1-1; away D 0-0
Ins: Taron Hare (Scunthorpe United); Eddie Nolan (Scunthorpe United); Vadaine Oliver (Crewe Alexandra); Reece Thomson (Frickley)
Outs: Wes Fletcher (Motherwell); Ryan Jarvis (Lowestoft Town); Lewis Montrose (Stockport County); Jason Mooney (Accrington Stanley); Daniel Parslow; George Swan (Wolverhampton Wanderers)

If they were a chocolate bar... a Kit-Kat. Between 2005 and 2010 York's stadium was called Kit-Kat Crescent as part of a sponsorship deal. York took a break from the Football League as they were relegated from League Two in 2003-04 and weren't promoted again until 2011-12. You could count on four fingers the amount of signings they have made this summer. Also, both are red on the outside.
