ARGYLE picked up their first Football League Youth Alliance point of the season with this draw in a game that had been reversed to Bristol.

"We controlled the game in midfield," said Academt Manager Kevin Hodges, "with Dan Rooney and Aaron Taylor showing good form, until the last 10 minutes. The fact that we conceded a last minute goal last weekend might have had something to do with that but we certainly did not deserve to concede."

Argyle enjoyed the majority of the first half pressure with Connor MaCauley and Jason Vincent both having efforts on goal and Alex Fletcher was left cursing his luck after the break when his shot hit the Rovers woodwork.

Argyle continued to pressure after the break with plenty of crosses coming in from either flanks but unfortunately they were missing that cutting edge.

Luke Jephcott, who was Argyle's top scorer in the recent Milk Cup tournament, was given his under-18s debut 22 minutes from time and did not let himself down with a strong performance for one so young.

Argyle: Cory Harvey, Billy Palfrey, Jordan Bentley, Owen Jones, Liam Knowles, Aaron Taylor, Dan Rooney, Connor MaCauley (Luke Jephcott 68), Alex Fletcher, Jason Vincent, Alex Battle.
