Super Luke Scoops Award

ARGYLE goalkeeper Luke McCormick has been named as the Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Week by Shoot magazine.

‘Super Luke’, as he is affectionately known by Pilgrims fans, was in tremendous form during the weekend’s away fixture at Southend United, which ended in a 0-0 draw. Argyle’s club captain made a string of saves, including an impressive double-stop late into the game, to help secure a well-earned point.

A product of Argyle's youth set up, McCormick made his first team debut in 2000-01, becoming the back-up goalkeeper for Romain Larrieu. The 31-year old, who hails from Coventry, has since made over 200 appearances for the club during two spells.

This season, McCormick has been in scintillating form between the sticks. Having played every minute of Argyle’s League 2 campaign, the goalkeeper has managed to keep a clean sheet in over half of all fixtures.
