If Barnet were a TV series they would be... The Young Ones. Barnet have offered professional contracts to eight youth prospects from their academy, and that alone qualifies the Bees to be named after the alternative comedy series. The Young Ones was fresh to British television in 1982 and meanwhile, Barnet FC were in the Alliance Premier League - the equivalent of the Conference. Just like The Young Ones has never really disappeared from British Culture, the Bees have only once disappeared from League 2 or the Conference since the TV series release date. In the same manner the British Sitcom keeps returning to television screens, Martin Allen keeps returning to The Hive - he's currently in his fourth stint! Can The Young Ones do anything differently this time round?
