Wotts Happened to the Years?

FOR Green Army members of a certain age...

...it does not seem more than five minutes ago that Paul Wotton was pulling on the colours of his hometown club for the first time.

Time marches on relentlessly, though, and - 491 games, 66 goals and 20-plus years since his debut - Wottsy is now responsible for passing on his considerable knowledge to the current generation of Pilgrims, as first-team coach at Home Park.

As club photographer Dave Rowntree's pictures - taken the best part of a quarter of a century apart - show, it is not just the position in the traditional 'sign-here-and-give-us-a-smile-for-posterity' photo that has changed.

On the left, the young teenage Wottsy commits himself to a lifetime at Home Park, watched by youth-team coach Peter Distin and first-team manager David Kemp; on the right, the older and wiser Wottsy welcomes former apprentices Callum Hall and Louis Rooney to the professional ranks this week.
