Lewi and Shez Nominated

LEWIS Alessandra and John Sheridan have both been recognised by the Football League after Argyle's fine February.

Although the month ended on a sour note with the loss to Bury at Home Park on Saturday, February had previously yielded four wins from four games, including a pleasing victory at Exeter City. 

Alessandra scored in three consecutive wins - against Accrington, Wycombe Wanderers and Cambridge United - and generally hit a sweet run of form thanks to his tireless performances and purposeful running, on top of his goals. 



John's last Sky Bet Manager of the Month nomination came in October 2014, after Argyle's unbeaten month in which they kept five clean sheets. This time he is up against Andy Awford of Portsmouth, Bury boss David Flitcroft and Northampton's Chris Wilder. 

Lewi's competition for Sky Bet Player of the month will be Portsmouth midfielder Jed Wallace, Burton defender Phil Edwards and experienced striker Jamie Cureton, now with Dagenham & Redbridge. 

All winners will be announced on Friday, March 6.
