The Big Five

JOHN Sheridan believes that five wins in Argyle's last nine games will be enough to claim a place in the end-of-season Sky Bet League 2 play-offs.

Five victories would see Argyle finish on 71 points - a tally that has been enough to reach the play-offs in three of the last four seasons - but the manager recognises that this task will not be straightforward, and that his Pilgrims cannot afford to hang around.

"I know what we’ve got to win - we've probably got to win five games to make [the play-offs]," said John. "We’ve got a great opportunity to get in the playoffs and I’ve told them that. We want to, if we can, get to Wembley; want to, if we can, get out of this division. Because you might not get a better opportunity and that’s all I’ve got to keep telling them, starting this Saturday.

“I think we are better than last season and I really do think we’ll make the playoffs.

"There’s still an opportunity there and there’s still something to play for - and we’re going to give it our best shot. But, we’ve got to start winning games quickly because we’re running out."
