Matt to the Finish

JAMILLE Matt has extended his loan spell at Argyle until the end of the season.

Matt joined on loan from Fleetwood at the beginning of March for an initial 28 day period. His first appearance was as second half substitute at Accrington, with his first start coming the following Saturday as Argyle hosted Luton Town.

Argyle lost both of those games, but when Jamille was paired with Reuben Reid at Morecambe, the pair seemed to click. Jamille has since scored in each of the Pilgrims' last three games, with two of them being provided by Reuben's hard work. In turn, Jamille won a penalty - from Reuben's throughball - against York City that Reid tucked away.

After the York game, Jamille spoke like a man that wanted to see out the campaign at Home Park. He said "We need to keep it in our hands; keep putting pressure on other teams to say ‘Can you match that?’ ‘Can you keep up with us?’ and if we can keep doing that, then we will be promoted. That is the way we are looking. We are looking upwards rather than looking behind us and thinking ‘they can catch us’.  We will just keep doing that.

”If we win our games from now until the end of the season we will be promoted - that is the main thing."

After signing his new deal, Jamille now has chance to the do just that.
