Three Lions, Two Keepers

TWO of Argyle's bright young goalkeeping prospects have caught a huge opportunity.

Argyle under-15 goalkeepers Jordan Duffy and Max Childs have been both been invited to England Men's Goalkeeping Camp at the University of Warwick on April 27-28.

Argyle Academy Manager Kevin Hodges said: "Max and Jordan have been selected to train with the very best in the country and should feel very proud of this achievement.

"The players will receive medical checks, attend training sessions, player workshops and receive educational support in the classroom.

"At Argyle we all feel very proud when our players get called up for international duty. It is testament to the hard work and dedication of the players as well as the Academy staff, and in this case to the hard work of Rhys Wilmot, our goalkeeping coach, who has worked with Max and Jordan since they were under nine years of age."

Max and Jordan follow in the footsteps of former Academy goalkeeper Christian Walton who has received a number of international caps and was sold to Brighton during the first year of his apprenticeship. He is now an established England under-21 goalkeeper, and returned to Home Park earlier this season on a loan spell.

Both Max and Jordan played in the Milk Cup last year in Northern Ireland, and are eligible to compete in the Northern Ireland Super Cup this July.

We wish them every success in their participation at this event and look forward to them reporting back to the Academy following this wonderful opportunity.
